A Number Of Useful Points About The Shopping Genie

My Shopping Genie has been getting a lot of attention recently, not because it’s a great FREE application that can help you find the best deals online, BUT because of the MLM business model attached to it.

My Shopping Genie, which is run by MyNet Universe, has been welcomed by some of the big retailers on the internet which is comforting news. EBay, Clickbank, Amazon are 3 that spring to mind. Being a free download, its open to everyone, it shows up in your web browser when you switch it on and will look at many different suppliers to find the best price for the product you are looking for.

Prime Time, a TV investigation programme recently looked into the Genie and sent an undercover agent to the launch meeting in Ireland. They are calling it an outright scam because of its ‘pyramid’ nature and lack of tangible ‘product’.

The product is a license or right to sell the Genie to others who enter the business, for which you will be paid. You also have the right to give away the software download to consumers for free; it will cost you $199 to sign up. You also have to pay around $30 a month for the back office fees. This business was co-founded by a guy called Bruce Bise who says the whole thing is legit and legal. He himself has done time for fraud before..

When a Genie distributor signs up they will earn $100 for every 2 new licenses they sell. This is probably where most of the My Shopping Genie scam allegations stem from. You are directly being rewarded for bringing others into the opportunity.

Of course you are then also eligible for the other income earning streams of pay-per-click (PPC), pay-per-sale (PPS), and pay-per-offer (PPO) as the users of the Genie Web Apps you gave them shop and price compare at hundreds of thousands of online stores for millions of products and special offers.

Complaints seem to be part and parcel of the MLM home based business industry, is there any company out there which hasn’t been slated by someone at some point? Some people just don’t like the idea of free enterprise, some are jealous, others have tried and failed, there will be a ton of other reasons as well. You are always better off looking into the facts for yourself rather than taking someone else’s word for it.

The BBB (Better Business Bureau) is a good place to find out if there have been any complaints about a particular company. Doing a search on MyNet Universe, the company behind the Genie shows that they have a B+ rating which is very respectable. Total record of complaints registered is 0 in the last 36 months. There is a record that the company received a recommendation and warning for using the word FREE in their advertising, apart from that there is nothing else.

To be honest you will need to make your own mind up about the legitimacy of My Shopping Genie scam reports. There are some folks who just don’t agree with the idea of network marketing period. Obviously to them the Genie is not and never will be legitimate.

Whether or not the Genie is out to scam you will hinge on your own individual feelings about MLM in general. The only thing I will say is that it would be in my ‘weaker’ opportunity list because of the lack of tangible products. You also need to remember that a large amount of the bad press that MLM has received over the years is mostly due to unscrupulous marketers making unethical and hyped up claims of easy wealth.

The Genie certainly does seem to be a solid business opportunity with great rewards, I particularly like the earning potential from other people using the Genie as a shopping tool, some serious residual income could be built easily.

There is no doubt some people are raking it in right now with the Genie, the top earners will be those who understand how to generate large amounts of leads for their business.
